Today, INFINITI unveiled its first hybrid luxury sedan in Toronto at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show - the 2012 INFINITI M35h. Designed to deliver Inspired Performance with industry-leading horsepower and fuel economy, the all-new M Hybrid is set to be in dealerships nationwide this spring.
“The 2012 INFINITI M Hybrid literally has it all - power, luxury and exceptional fuel efficiency – all wrapped in the seductive styling that our M lineup is so famous for,” said Wendy Durward, Director, INFINITI Canada. “Its ability to deliver the refined power of a V8 engine with the fuel efficiency of a 4-cylinder, makes this car another true example of the Inspired Performance that INFINITI strives to achieve.”
INFINITI Canada also announced pricing for the first vehicle to be welcomed into its new and exciting INFINITI Performance Line (IPL). Starting at just $57,200, the 2011 IPL G Coupe will also be available in dealers across the country this spring and will add a new dimension to INFINITI’s lineup of Inspired Performance vehicles.
“The 2011 INFINITI IPL G Coupe is an aggressive expression of what we aim to deliver to the market – exceptional performance in a luxury vehicle,” said Durward. “The IPL series will take our already impressive lineup to another level, and we are confident that the auto enthusiasts will appreciate that.”
About the 2012 INFINITI M35h
As the first hybrid to offer 360 Horsepower with over 6.1 litre/100 km (hwy), the all-new 2012 INFINITI M35h benefits from INFINITI’s proven 3.5-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 engine paired with the 50 kW electric motor. It can drive on electric power alone at speeds up to 100 km/h and can travel on electric propulsion for up to 1.9 kilometres.
The INFINITI M Hybrid features the all-new INFINITI Direct Response Hybrid™ system, an advanced one-motor, two-clutch parallel hybrid design that combines precise, high-speed motor control technology, which, enabled by the powerful Lithium-ion battery, allows power to be delivered directly to the vehicle’s 7-speed automatic transmission. The system also utilizes an innovative Hybrid Electric Power Steering system and Electric Driven Intelligent Brake regenerative braking system, both which help conserve energy and provide a natural, enjoyable driving feel.
The M35h is also the world’s first hybrid to provide a standard feature to help alert pedestrians to its presence – the Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP) system – which automatically works from start-up to approximately 32 km/hr, cutting back in at approximately 24 km/hr as the vehicle slows.

About the 2011 IPL G Coupe
The 2011 IPL G Coupe builds on the foundation of the second-generation INFINITI G Coupe rear-wheel drive model with numerous modification throughout the vehicle. The IPL G Coupe’s advanced VQ37HR 3.7-litre V6 engine has been recalibrated to provide 348-hp at 7,400 rpm. Torque output is enhanced over the standard 3.7-litre engine to provide a maximum 276 lb-ft at 5,200 RPM. Front and rear fascias and side sills are revised, and each part is shaped to accent the G Coupe’s aggressively seductive styling. Combined with the exclusive 19-inch IPL split 7-spoke graphite-finish wheels and low-profile W-rated Bridgestone Potenza RE050A performance tires.
