Karim Habib has been Executive Design Director, INFINITI Motor Company, Ltd. since 1 July 2017. He is based at the company's Global Design Centre in Atsugi, near Yokohama, Japan, and reports jointly to INFINITI Chairman and Global President, Roland Krueger, and Senior Vice President for Global Design, Alfonso Albaisa. In his role, Karim Habib is responsible for INFINITI design matters globally.
After completing his studies, Habib joined BMW design studio in Munich, creating the 7 Series and Concept CS designs before promotion to Head of Advanced Design Department in 2007. In 2009 he joined Mercedes-Benz to lead the Advanced Design Department in Stuttgart. In 2011 he returned to BMW as Head of Exterior Design, then in 2012 he was named Head of Design of BMW Automobiles. Habib was responsible for all BMW products, including X1, BMW Next 100 concept, the CSL Hommage, and BMW M2. Karim Habib was appointed Executive Design Director, INFINITI Motor Company, Ltd. in July 2017.
Karim is fluent in French, English, German, and Italian and has interests in architecture, furniture design and classic cars.
Karim Habib is Canadian, born in Lebanon in 1970. After obtaining a bachelor of Engineering degree at McGill University in Montreal, Habib started his studies in Transportation Design at the Art Center Europe in Switzerland in 1994. He completed his degree with honors at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
