Detroit / Hong Kong - For motor sport aficionados, Eau Rouge, the signature high-speed corner of the famed Spa-Francorchamps race circuit in Belgium, is synonymous with daring, commitment and speed.
For drivers, it is the ultimate examination of their skill and courage.
The ultra-fast, left-right-left sweeping Eau Rouge corner has seen some of the most incredible driving feats in Formula One history, and has been a favourite of a number of grand prix drivers down the years.
Taken flat out in a Formula One car at around 320km/h (200mph), this rapid rollercoaster kinks left, compressing the car's suspension - and the driver's body - at its base, then twists right as it fires steeply up hill before coiling left again to a blind crest that demands perfect car placement, confidence and audacity.
A howling Formula One car attacking Eau Rouge is a truly breathtaking sight.
"The Eau Rouge corner complex is one of the most challenging and satisfying parts of any circuit in the F1 calendar," said Sebastian Vettel, INFINITI's Director of Performance and four-time Formula One World Drivers' Champion for INFINITI Red Bull Racing.
"The speed through it, the initial compression, extreme lateral G-forces and blind apex, give you a big rush. Get it right and it's incredibly rewarding. But it can also catch you out."
The INFINITI Q50 Eau Rouge concept features aerodynamic styling treatments and design elements influenced by INFINITI's partnership with multiple Formula One World Championship-winning team INFINITI Red Bull Racing. This technological influence from the very pinnacle of motorsport directed the Eau Rouge concept's moniker.
