MISSISSAUGA, ON. – Earlier this week, Stephen Lester, national general manager at INFINITI Canada handed over the keys to a new 2015 INFINITI Q50 AWD to  Mr. Samuel Sang Young Lee at Alta INFINITI in Woodbridge, Ontario. The delivery of the Q50 to Mr. Lee - a loyal INFINITI customer for nearly a decade – physically represents the INFINITI brand surpassing the 10,000 sales mark for the first time in Canada.

The 10,000th delivery for INFINITI comes in conjunction with the luxury brand recording its best-ever year in Canada by delivering 10,291 units in 2014. This remarkable total is an increase of 15 per cent compared to INFINITI's record-breaking results for calendar year 2013 of 8,947 units.

"At INFINITI, a key word for us is, 'performance.' We push the limits of performance in our vehicles, and we exemplify performance to the maximum through our Formula One partnership with Red Bull Racing," says Stephen Lester, national general manager at INFINITI Canada. "Upon surpassing the 10,000 sales mark, I warmly congratulate the entire INFINITI team who not only demonstrated inspired performance, but took the term to new heights in 2014. Their long hours, attention to detail, and above all - steadfast commitment to provide an ownership experience unparalled in the industry - shows in these numbers."

Concluding its third year of sales, the QX60 luxury crossover was the top-selling model in the INFINITI roster in 2014 at 3,613 units up 13.2 per cent over last year. The success story continued in the INFINITI CUV and SUV lineup, with the QX50 luxury compact crossover and the QX80 full-size sport utility vehicle posting gains of 31.3 per cent and 26.2 per cent respectively.

While a number of INFINITI models posted double-digit year-over-year growth last year, the Q50 luxury sport sedan sustained its sales momentum. Sales for the INFINITI Q50 – crowned the winner of AJAC's 2014 Best New Luxury Car (over $50k) - totaled 3,242 in 2014, up 27.2 per cent over 2013. The Q50 continues to receive accolades from various news outlets and media associations across the globe. The revolutionary Direct Adaptive Steering System, which was first introduced on the Q50, also receives worldwide recognition and has effectively set a new benchmark in automotive technology.

Over the past few years, INFINITI Canada has seen steady year-over-year sales growth and consequently, an influx of new customers. With that, INFINITI has and continues to invest heavily in its Canadian dealer network.  Last year, INFINITI proudly opened three brand-new dealerships: Albi INFINITI de Mascouche in Mascouche, Quebec; Endras INFINITI in Ajax, Ontario and 400 INFINITI in Barrie Ontario all opened their doors for the first time in 2014 offering a world-class retail environment for their customers.

"I am thrilled to enter our silver jubilee year in Canada coming off the best sales year in the brand's history and with the best team," says Lester. "As someone relatively new to the INFINITI Canada team, I am incredibly impressed with the utmost level of passion and dedication I've seen from everyone at every level of the organization. We are all excited to build on this sales momentum in 2015."
