YOKOHAMA, Japan – The allure of the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 extends beyond its design – right down to its powertrain that produces a powerful, rewarding drive.
Set to debut March 20, the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 delivers confidence and capability with a powertrain and chassis that were precisely engineered to empower the driver at every step of the journey.
Effortless power
The all-new QX80's heart is a refined and efficient VR35DDT 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged engine, rated for 450 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque – increases of 50 horsepower and 102 lb-ft versus the current generation. That's complemented by a 9-speed automatic transmission with a 40% wider gear ratio range, allowing for both responsive acceleration and efficient highway cruising. And, at highway speeds, active grille shutters close to reduce aerodynamic drag and aid fuel consumption. The new powertrain is projected to deliver improved acceleration and greater fuel economy1 than the outgoing V8, so owners can go farther and explore more.
Quiet confidence
Intensive attention has been given to delivering a serenely quiet cabin and refined experience for all on board. The all-new QX80 features greater torsional rigidity that contributes to a significantly quieter cabin.
Smoothing the road
Newly available Electronic Air Suspension and Dynamic Digital Suspension technologies work in tandem to adapt the all-new QX80 to the exact driving situation. In pursuit of INFINITI's aim of delivering thoughtful hospitality, the air suspension automatically lowers when the vehicle is parked to make it easier to enter, load or unload luggage. Meanwhile, Dynamic Digital Suspension constantly evaluates the vehicle's motions to reduce body motion, enhancing driver confidence and ensuring passenger comfort over long journeys.
"As a driver, the QX80's impressive new powertrain gives you the feeling that you always have power in reserve, even while accelerating," said Ivan Espinosa, senior vice president, Global Product Strategy and Product Planning. "No need to worry about lag–it's always in the right gear, delivering a powerful driving experience."
